Good Companions Musical Theatre (formerly The Good Companions Stage Society) is a Derby based amateur company. Originally called The Good Companions Stage Society it was formed in 1959 by a group of friends who wanted to perform together. They began with pantomimes and concerts and soon the numbers in the company grew and bigger productions, such as musicals became part of the regular performances. Now we produce two musicals a year, which are performed at local professional theatres, and perform concerts to raise money for charity or provide entertainment for those who may not be able to visit the theatre. As the name suggests, we are still a society of friends who not just put together productions but also enjoy a wide variety of social events.
